Very often when I am back from my vacation , more than the places I visited – I miss the hotels I stayed in. I mean who does not want room with the perfect view, world class service , delicious breakfast and more importantly that feeling of being pampered. And when you get all that nested in a perfect location, the joy of the trip is even doubled. Corral Del Rey in Seville is one such gem of a hotel that combines history and luxury to its perfection. If you are looking for any suggestions on things to do in Seville , check my post here . There are four things that I always seek in a good hotel : Comfort, Location, Amenities and Style. If you are planning a trip to Seville , look no further , Corral Del Rey has it all.
Corral Del Rey is a boutique hotel . Nestled in the winding streets of Seville’s Alfalfa neighbourhood ,it is a whitewashed retreat overlooking the ancient city. This meticulously restored hotel is a reincarnation of a classic 17th-century Casa Palacio, converted into luxury bedrooms, suites, a restaurant, and a roof terrace with a pool. Every effort has been made to preserve the original features of the casa, from the beautiful atrium, to the marble columns and ornate archways. The tall ceilings , beautiful wood work and bold doors make every detail stand out. The décor is mix of old and new and definitely gives a feeling of time travel.
The most important thing that I consider while booking my hotels for any trip is the proximity of the hotel from all the major attractions. Now of course .one can get a little cheaper deals by staying outside the city , but wasting time in commute and spending money on taxis , is not my kind of vacation. I like discovering a place on my own pace without thinking about missing a train or bus. Seville is a perfect city for walking or biking, as it’s flat. This is not the place to move primarily by public transportation, and taxis are pricey. The location of Corral Del Rey is unbeatable. Being in the old quarter of Barrio Alfa Alfa , it is literally 5 – 10 minutes (by walking) away from all main things in the city. The city does not sleep until late mid night and you can catch all the action minutes away from this hotel. Live music , street performances, food and drinks – the hotel is walking distance from every possible entertainment you can think of. One of the great places in Seville to catch Flamenco show is Museo Del Baile Flamenco and it is 2 minutes away from the hotel.
The hotel is spread across three buildings has 16 bedrooms and a penthouse suite. The décor in each room is very eclectic and modern. The bedrooms are divided into 5 categories : superior , deluxe, junior suite, , pool terrace suite and penthouse. We stayed in junior suite and our room had everything that we needed for our stay. I expected a lot of noise at night as the hotel is in the middle of city , but trust me I did not hear a thing. En Suite bathrooms of Coral Del Rey were simply fabulous. Marble floors , double sink vanity , walkin rain shower and a giant bathtub – it had everything to spoil me . The hotel offers complimentary WIFI , a safe deposit in each room and a minibar. The best thing for me was that they had every possible travel adapter in each room – something I have not seen in many hotels. Breakfast is complimentary too .
Apart from hotels unique style and creative atmosphere , the owners have really tried to make their guests’ stay memorable and comfortable. . We were welcomed to our room with a personalized note and bottle of their own olive oil. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. Hotel offers private airport transfers , private guides , tailor made excursions , laundry and dry cleaning services. Now I definitely could not avail all the services they offered but I was glad to know that I had a choice.
Overall my stay in this fantastic boutique hotel was very memorable and I will definitely recommend it all. My only wish is that I hoped I could have stayed a bit longer. I was very happy with comfort and small details that were very thoughtfully taken care by the hotel staff. For the more details and reservations you can visit their website here.
